Benefiting Women in Aviation
San Diego Chapter's Girls in Aviation Day
For WAI San Diego’s GIAD19, we will sponsor up to 200 girls for an overnight, aviation-themed adventure onboard the USS Midway. Many of the girls will be from local youth groups and underprivileged neighborhoods in San Diego County.
The Spring Gala is our main fundraising event of the year and will include a special menu from The French Gourmet, lively entertainment from our guest speaker, Dr. Janet Lapp, a high-end Live Auction with auctioneer Anna Couvrette, a silent auction, and mingling with fellow aviation leaders and influencers.
Our Spring Gala will raise funds for our local Girls in Aviation Dayto be held in October 2019. Worldwide, Girls In Aviation Day events reach over 15,000 girls around the world, encouraging them to explore aviation and aerospace education and careers.
Donations ensure the continued growth of this unique outreach as well as annual scholarships.
We invite you to attend this event, to help us expand our aviation community and support the next generation of our aviation workforce.
