We are the San Diego Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI), a nonprofit 501c(3) organization dedicated to providing networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.

Our San Diego chapter has over 60 members including private, charter, corporate, airline and military pilots; student pilots and flight instructors; aerospace engineers; airport managers and General Aviation business staff; flight attendants; air traffic controllers; and aviation enthusiasts. We focus on networking, career development and mentoring, fun events and tours, and are huge supporters of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

Women in aviation breaking barriers

July Chapter Event!

When Jill Meyers was a girl, she was fascinated with flight. She built model airplanes and pedaled her bike to the local airport to watch the planes. But, she had no role models. “Most of the time I was told ‘no, you can’t do that,’ or ‘no, you shouldn’t do that.’”

Meyers is dedicated to the advancement of women in the flying world, whether in the cockpit or on the tarmac.
