We are the San Diego Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI), a nonprofit 501c(3) organization dedicated to providing networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.

Our San Diego chapter has over 55 members including private, charter, corporate, airline and military pilots; student pilots and flight instructors; aerospace engineers; airport managers and General Aviation business staff; flight attendants; air traffic controllers; and aviation enthusiasts. We focus on networking, career development and mentoring, fun events and tours, and are huge supporters of S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering and math).

Dottie Norkus grew up loving airliners and spent her early years out of high school at her first career working for Southwest Airlines on the ramp at Lindbergh Field. She funded her own flight training and became an airline pilot! Dottie is a Captain with American Eagle and flies the Bombardier CRJ700 out of ORD. She is proud to have WAI membership number 250!
