We are the San Diego Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI), a nonprofit 501c(3) organization dedicated to providing networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.

Our San Diego chapter has over 60 members including private, charter, corporate, airline and military pilots; student pilots and flight instructors; aerospace engineers; airport managers and General Aviation business staff; flight attendants; air traffic controllers; and aviation enthusiasts. We focus on networking, career development and mentoring, fun events and tours, and are huge supporters of S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering and math).

At our 2016 annual Girls in Aviation Day, girls were introduced to some of the many possibilities available in a career in aviation. The event at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, as part of their annual Air Show, included an exclusive “meet and greet” with the Blue Angels pilots and the chance to see one of the F/A-18 Hornet jets up close.

Victoria Peck recently found her passion for aviation by receiving a free intro flight from WAI San Diego! She knew she found what she loved and what she wanted to do with her future. Victoria comes from a long line of military and airline pilots that inspire her every day to do her best. At 19 years old she is currently attending Coast Flight and pursuing her Associates in aviation and her private pilot license. Victoria plans to become an airline pilot by the time she is 21 and travel the world.
